BIRDING AROUND SOFIA
 

Departure time: ~ 8.00 h
Finishing: ~ 18:00 - 19:00 h

Best time: mid-April - late July

This birding trip will bring you to a great variety of habitats around Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, like conifer and broad-leaved forests in the mountains, high mountain meadows, marshlands, steppe and Karst areas.

Some of the key species of birds to be seen during the trip:
Pygmy Cormorant, Ferruginous Duck, Long-legged Buzzard, Short-toed eagle, Corncrake, European Roller, European Bee-eater, White-backed Woodpecker, Black woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Calandra Lark, Water Pipit, Black-headed Yellow Wagtail, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Semi-collared Flycatcher, Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush, Ring Ouzel, Isabelline Wheatear, Sombre Tit, Black-headed Bunting, and many others.

2-3 persons: 70 EUR per person
4-5 persons: 55 EUR per person
